Science Fiction that doesn’t Taste like Science Fiction

My name is John Bowers. I was born to write books and entertain you. As a child I began reading at an early age; when I was 13 I began writing stories. In the summer of 1962 I irrigated cotton for $4 a day and saved the money for a typewriter (ever seen one of those?). The day I got it home, I began my first novel and finished it nine months later. By the time I graduated high school, I had written five more.
Some folks tell me they don’t like science fiction (but most of them like Star Trek!). My books are sold as science fiction, but they don’t taste like science fiction. By that I mean they aren’t really about science, but about people. Human people. I don’t do monsters or aliens, elves or orcs, no supernatural or magic, just stories about ordinary people like you. I place them in dire situations throughout the universe and hope they can survive.
My job is to keep you up at night, turning pages. If you like novels filled with adventure, romance, war, politics, crime, suspense, or any combination of these, then give my novels a try. You can find links to them from the main page, and I hope you enjoy reading them as much as I loved writing them.
