I never cease to be astonished at the reach of the Worldwide Web. Back when I was still a kid, dreaming of being a famous novelist, I envisioned having readers all over the United States. “Foreign sales” never occurred to me. I didn’t actually publish any novels until the internet was firmly established, and my early novels were available as e-books only (all are now available as both e-books and paperbacks).
Then something remarkable happened. Not only was I selling books in the USA, but also the UK, Canada, and Australia.
One of the interesting features of sales reports is that sales are reported by country, and I was blown away when one of my books found a buyer in Poland, another in Brazil, then along came Spain, Germany, and South Korea. Not a lot of sales in those countries (my books are English only at this time), but a few. I was overwhelmed.
I activated this website three months ago and when someone clicks on the site, WordPress records where the click came from, and guess what–my last post (September 7, 2023) generated clicks from France and Germany! I started looking back over the past three months and found other clicks from (deep breath): Mexico, Norway, South Africa, China, Taiwan, Ireland, Saudi Arabia, India, Costa Rica, Japan, Vietnam, Singapore, and Pakistan (as well, of course, as the USA, UK, Canada, and Australia).
Needless to say, I am blown away. I have no idea who you all are or how you came to my web page, but I thank you from the soles of my shoes. I hope you will continue to visit, browse around, and maybe even buy some of my books (each book has a link to Amazon). I promise my writing will not disappoint you, even if you are not a fan of futuristic fiction. I have endeavored to create memorable tales of adventure, intrigue, romance, and war that involve “real” people filled with hope, despair, and extreme passion…and I hope you will give them a try.
I am currently working on a fourth series that I hope will appeal to an even younger audience than the current three do. When they are ready for release, I will announce them via this newsletter.
